Description

thERBN is an EU-wide multi-actor network aimed at advancing knowledge sharing on sustainable circular bioeconomy solutions tailored for small-scale farmers and foresters in rural areas. The project addresses key challenges, such as managing biological by-products and bridging the gap between existing innovations and real-world needs. Through platforms like EU-Farmbook and the dedicated thERBN platform, it provides multilingual resources, practical tools, and training to empower practitioners.

Additionally, thERBN fosters collaboration among researchers, advisors, and stakeholders, reducing knowledge fragmentation and supporting the transition to climate-neutral, sustainable, and resilient rural operations. The project is implemented by a consortium of 20 partners from 11 countries (Belgium, Spain, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Slovakia, Romania, France, Poland, Germany, and Portugal), bringing together universities, research centers, cooperatives, and consultancies from across Europe.

Policy briefs and recommendations will further promote the adoption of scalable bioeconomy solutions across Europe.
