Q-PLAN Tailored Training Webinar on Writing Horizon Europe Proposals
Q-PLAN International delivered a dedicated training webinar on how to prepare competitive proposals for Horizon Europe. The webinar on EU Horizon projects was led by Q-PLAN’s Project Manager, Dr. Elina Mitraka, and project consultant Mr. Aristotelis Folas, within the framework of our MERGE EU project.
The training material was developed by the Q-PLAN team, aiming to enhance the skills of experienced researchers in widening countries, supporting them in developing stronger proposals and improving their chances of securing EU funding. The training was created drawing on established resources from field experts, as well as Q_PLAN’s hands-on experience in drafting and implementing numerous successful EU proposals.

Covering the mapping of funding opportunities with a focus on Horizon Europe, the training primarily aimed to provide practical insights into the key components of a high-quality proposal. This included excellence, impact, and implementation, as well as offering participants practical tips to enhance the clarity, coherence, and competitiveness of their submissions.
More than 25 researchers participated actively and engaged with questions, demonstrating their strong interest in enhancing their proposal development skills through the expertise offered by the Q-PLAN team.
Elina Mitraka highlighted the importance of such initiatives, stating: “Sharing best practices on proposal writing with researchers from widening countries is a key objective of MERGE. Q-PLAN is committed to delivering targeted trainings for both researchers and administrative staff and by doing so, we help promote a more competitive and balanced European Research Area, where rising institutions have the tools to stand alongside major research players.”
