Q-PLAN at the GenB “Bioeconomy Village” event, organised by HSPN, at the Athens Science Festival.

On April 18^th and 19^th, 2024, Q-PLAN INTERNATIONAL participated at the “Bioeconomy Village” event, organized by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN), at the Athens Science Festival in the framework of GenB project.

The event aimed to raise awareness and promote education about the bioeconomy and circular economy to young people. The interactive exhibition gave children and adults the chance to see up close, touch, and feel real biobased products, such as bioplastic, plant-based fabrics, and many others.

Through this experience, people were able to get informed about the values and uses of bioeconomy in contemporary society and realize that bioeconomy is a science that actively contributes to a more sustainable future. Several young people wanted to actively contribute to bioeconomy, with the Greek GenB Ambassadors at the forefront who volunteered for the event.

It was inspiring to see so many young minds engaged and eager to learn about the bioeconomy and explore sustainable solutions. We hope the experiences we shared sparked a lasting interest in science and sustainability for all who attended.
