From Strategy to Field: CANALLS Propels Agroecological Transitions with New Tools and Discussions

Over 60 CANALLS consortium members convened in Yaoundé, Cameroon, for their 5th project meeting, a productive three-day event held from May 26 to May 28, 2025. This meeting effectively marked the culmination of a 5-day Training of Trainers (ToT) program that took place in Ntui, Cameroon, the preceding week.
The CANALLS project achieved significant milestones in the past semester, reinforcing its commitment to fostering sustainable agroecological transitions across Central and Eastern Africa. During the meeting, partners and Living Lab Leaders presented the latest progress, discussed co-designed methodologies, and delved into the tools developed and utilized within the project.

A major highlight was the unveiling of ‘agreco,’ the initial version of the Decision Support Tool (DST), specifically designed to guide and support tailored agroecological transitions. Alongside the DST, partners also discussed the governance model of the Central and Eastern Africa Network of Agroecology Living Labs (CANoLL), which is intended to facilitate the long-term operation and cooperation among the 8 Living Labs.

Representing Q-PLAN, Kiki Argyropoulou and Elena Nistikaki provided key updates on the co-design and validation of inclusive sustainable business models for agroecological transitions, as well as the progress in the project’s Dissemination, Communication, and Exploitation activities.
